Ben Cane | Reflections on Being Invited to Judge the Royal Adelaide Wine Show 2023

Royal Adelaide Wine Show Logo

What an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be invited to judge at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show 2023.

To return to where I grew up, to where the very seeds of my winemaking career began and to taste and learn with some of the great legends of the wine industry was a true honour.

We are so lucky to have such a rigorous and healthy wine show system, truly the envy of the world which helps to push Australian wine ever forward. Bringing together some of the finest wine minds in the industry, both young and old to objectively evaluate where our wines stand and their quality is a wonderful objective allowing us all to learn and enjoy our industry.

Then to share fantastic wines over great meals as we discuss and are inspired not to mention entertain each other, creates great networks and strong friendships which can only result in better Aussie wine for us all.

Because #lifestooshorttodrinkbadwine and Aussie wines are just getting better and better thanks in part to these competitions and the opportunities that arise from them

#cheers to good wines and good times
